Dina lived for only 34 years, he died due to tuberculosis. During his stay in the orphanage, he saw little improvement; he ate food on a plate and was learning to stand upright. 

Dina lived all her life like a wolf, but he adopted a habit of man, he started smoking. He became a chain smoker. He is said to have been the cause of his death. 

After his death, The Jungle Book was written by writer Rudyard Kipling on his life which became quite popular, many movies were made with this book as the basis.
