Dadasaheb Phalke, considered the father of Indian cinema.  Born in Maharashtra on 30 April 1870, Dhundiraj Govind Phalke later became famous as Dadasaheb Phalke.  In 1913, Dadasaheb made the first feature film titled Raja Harishchandra and this was also the first film in India.
Accumulated but wife and child died in plague disease.

Dadasaheb came back to Baroda, but here too his business of futility was not able to grow because there was confusion among the people that the camera draws energy from people, which also leads to death many times.  He then ventured into painting and drama production.  Not only this, he also learned magic from a German magician who had come to Baroda in those days, and also performed shows in someone else's name for a few days.

Remarried in 1902

In 1902 Phalke remarried.  Phalke's life continued like this until 1910.  Started different businesses but no deposits.  His life changed course in 1911 when he went to Bombay to watch a film with his elder son.  After this he thought that now he will do something similar.

Learned by going to London

With this dream, he left for London on 1 February 1912.  He wanted to learn the tricks of filmmaking and went to London for this.  After returning from London, he made a place to film in his own bungalow and then started the journey from here to the Indian film industry.
 


Raja Harishchandra first film

He then made the first film through Raja Harishchandra.  After this, she prepared as Mohini Bhasmasur and then Satyavan Savitri as the third film.  After the success of these films, Phalke again went to London to get better.  Let me tell you that his films were praised in London and many offers also came.  There were offers to make a film based in London and take a share in the profits.  However, Phalke Saheb made it clear that he would make the film only and only in India.



Movies made on loan

No one was willing to pay money during World War I upon his return from London.  This situation was difficult for Phalke Saheb.  Despite this, Phalke Saheb did not sit silent and continued to pursue films with money on loan.

Ratanji Tata came forward

Things got better after that Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Ratanji Tata and Seth Manmohandas Ramji arranged the money and through profit asked them to take the industry forward by making the film company a private company.  In this way Srikrishna's birth became the first film after depositing money and becoming a private company.  Phalke Saheb's 6-year-old daughter played the role of Krishna.  After this, Phalke Saheb also dominated the big screen through Kalia Mardan.

This was his last film

'Ganga Avataran' was the last film from Phalke Saheb which was a sound film.  It took a total of two years to build and about 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees were spent.  At the same time, speaking of Phalke Saheb's last silent film, it was the bridge which was released in 1932.  His contribution to cinema in 1969 led to the opening of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award by the Government of India.  This award is given every year for better performance in the field of cinema.  It is also the country's largest award in the field of cinema.
